A pivotal moment in my life was when I was 12 years old. I signed up for the media ministry at my church and became involved in live production. It wasn't until my 8th grade graduation that I got my first digital camera. It was a Canon Powershot A430. With it, I would charge people for MySpace pictures that were known as Dawnizzle Productions. When I reached high school, I became interested in film directing from a video productions class that I took. I also watched the director's commentary of Love and Basketball which was directed by Gina Prince-Bythewood, an African-American female director. That allowed me to know for sure that I wanted to be a film director. From there, I went on to shoot weddings as the assistant photographer under the tutelage of Ludmila Leito. I also received wedding video experience from working with Chip Dizard. My growth continued at Oakwood University where I am currently a student. I work for Breath of Life which is based in the University Church. I was the yearbook editor my junior year and I interned at the Cannes Film Festival as a student filmmaker. My goals include expanding my photography while making feature films.
